Bored at work, home, school? Here are some entertaining links.

Remember those Public Service Announcements (PSA) at the end of GI Joe? You have to watch some of these then.

Love the movies of John Hughes? Need a vacation? This is the guide for you then.

Did you take French in school? Was it Yale's French in Action? Then did you spend that class time in hushed whispers about how Mirelle, the star of French in Action, reportedly went on to become a French porn star - leaving you with a voracious appetite for learning French - or a least mildly hungry to dispense with the French recitation and to dive straight into the educational videos? No? Me either. But if you're needing that fix of Mirelle, you may want to jump over here for a stroll down memory lane.

We weekend was pretty chill. I saw the Dreamers friday night. It was entertaining enough - but the last 10-15 minutes or so I believe were left on the cutting room floor. Literally, the movie just ends out of the blue - with no rhyme or reason - as if to say, "listen, you got to see copious amounts of full frontal nudity, so I'm ending the movie here - got a problem with it?".

Then Sunday I hit an Oscar party. This was my first Oscars as a west coast resident. I spent twenty-odd years of propping my eyes open with toothpicks to see the end of the oscars just so I could dive into bed at 1am only to turn around and get up what seemed like minutes later to catch the bus to school and/or work. But now? I strolled into the party around 7 the whole shebang was over by an early 9, and I was left standing there, on Oscar night of all nights, thinking to myself, "Well, now what to do with the rest of my night?" What seemed a tedious marathon back east is like a quirky little awards show out here, something to wet one's whistle with before settling in for some real sunday night TV watching, like I Love The 80s Strikes Back or VH1's homage to the oxy-moron, showing Mariah Carey's Glitter on Movies That Rock.

My weekend had included the plan of finding a nice girl to make-out with me hardcore in the front row of Mel Gibson's "The Passion..." for a laugh, but alas it was not meant to be.
