Take Me Out 03.24.2004 - 6:51 p.m. Saw Franz Ferdinand last night and I must say they couldn't be a nicer bunch or rockers. They have a lot of fun on stage and they're chatty in between songs - which I like. Do see 'em when they're in your town. So a friend of mine is having a party this weekend. Although nobody ever adheres to themes - it's fun to pronounce a vague theme over each party anyway. My friend Jesse couldn't think of one - but then somehow it was brought to his attention that the re-elect George W Bush campaign has a website where you can organize "parties" at your house for other Bush supporters/masochists in your area. My friend had the brilliant idea of forgoing an E-Vite and having the good people of the Republican Party advertise his..er...party. I had a good laugh - here's a screen capture:
Hell yeah I'm going. But whose my favorite Republican - they're all so good! I hope Polk or Pierce were Republican. My safety is John Sununu, just so I can finally walk around drunk saying Sununu for a reason. The original theme was Think Pink! so I think I may incorporate that anyway. I have till Saturday to dig up a killer Rod Stewart-esque-Do-ya-think-I'm-sexy pink satin suit. One that John Sununu would wear. Why do we gradually get nerdier again as we get older? I think everyone reaches a cool zeneith, but then the trip back down the other side is just as bad - if not worse. I predict in ten more years I'm going to be getting my ass whooped in dodge-ball all over again - only having just gone through the painful team picking process minutes before. That was the beauty of phys. ed., it was an equal opportunity bruiser, leaving scars both physical and emotional, just in case. Nobody likes loose ends. ;)
